Legit.ng formerly know as Naija.ng is one of the biggest online news publishing websites in Nigeria. It was founded in 2012 by Genesis Technology partners, a Russian company owned by Vital Laptenok(a Belarusian man).
The company(Genesis Technology Partners) also owns some other popular companies such as Jiji.ng which is located in Nigeria,Yen.com.gh which is located in Ghana, and Tuko.co.ke which is located in Kenya
Just like other progressing internet companies, the website was also attacked by hackers in 2015 but the hacker was not successful as the website still remains until now.

According to Alexa Rankings, Legit.ng is the 6th most visited in Nigeria. As of November 2017 Legit.ng has a total of 62 million visits and over 4 million likes and followers on Facebook today.

Its name Legit is a short term of legitimate which explains the company's fact-checking policy before publishing news.
In 2014 Legit.ng android app got over 500k installs on play store a few months after publishing.
